Differentiation

Differentiated-Instruction-Chart.png

As a classroom teacher, I ensure success for each student by developing my knowledge of current best practices, as well as my knowledge of individual students’ strengths and needs. Through continued professional development and collaboration with peers, I learn how to incorporate these practices into my instruction. I have learned how I can use a blending learning model to differentiate instruction for each student. I have also learned how I can use assessment data to determine students’ strengths and needs. The Blended Learning Training, Apple Teacher training, and Google Certified Teacher Level 1 Training have supported my growth in incorporating technology as a means of differentiating instruction and providing opportunities to conference with students individually and in small groups.

I also ensure success for my students by facilitating a growth mindset through project-based learning (PBL) and cognitively guided instruction (CGI). When students realize that success looks different for different people and that success is fluid, students can learn exponentially. Through PBL and CGI, students access their strengths and learn from others’ strengths to support their own needs. Furthermore, when diversity is valued, a productive learning environment is created. In addition, students will understand when an individual is learning, he or she is being successful.
